Tahitian pearls, often called "black pearls", are renowned for their beauty and rarity. They are cultivated in the lagoons of French Polynesia, mainly from the pearl oyster Pinctada margaritifera. These pearls are distinguished by their varied hues, ranging from deep black to green, including blue, gray and mauve.
